About The Event

Opportunity for better professional development and work ethic provides Rotaract Bulgaria to all young people with their national initiative Professions Day. The event will be held in Sofia with the support of The University of National and World Economy, who provided us with two of his rooms completely free of charge.

The initiative is implemented through collaboration between the Rotaract clubs in Bulgaria and several Interact clubs. Our goal is to address the common problem that young people encounter when starting their career path - the lack of information about choosing a profession. That's why we decided to introduce them to various professionals who have already traveled the path that many young people are just starting. Several professions will be represented such as medicine, architecture, law, economics and finance, pedagogy, marketing and communications, etc. Among them is Assoc. Prof. Dr. Angel Marchev - junior, who has over 20 years of teaching experience in the application of innovative teaching methods in UNWE, SU, BFU, etc. He will lead a panel on "Management and Business". The marketing and communications area will be headed by Elitsa Stoilova, who deals with chatbots with artificial intelligence and is the co-founder and manager of the code-free platform Umni.bg. We will be introduced to the field of information technology by Gabriela Postalova, who works as a cyber security analyst at Telelink Business Services.

Participation in "Day of Professions: Career Path" is completely free. At the beginning of the event, we will also announce a competition with a prize fund "My first resume".

"Every experience or contact with architects was super interesting and stimulating for me - I decided to get involved because it didn't require any effort from me. Such contact with professionals can be a "springboard" for everyone's future", Petya Fakircheva, who is currently a student of architecture at University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy, shares her experience from previous editions of the event.

We have also added several workshops to our professions to help you find out which profession suits you best, learn the skills of the future, improve your CV and increase your confidence in the job interview process.

Presentation on "Develop skills of the future" will be introduced to us by Victoria Dimitrova, who is a PhD in Management and Economics with over 15 years of corporate management experience and the inspiration behind the largest gamification in education in practice (a business simulation for over 500 students).

Elitsa Kostova, career consultant and founder of Voca Academy will contribute to the career success of our participants with a lecture on the topic "What the employer wants to see in his employees"

The first edition of "Professions Day" was held in 2016 at the initiative of Rotaract Club Plovdiv - Filipopol. We know that there are many young and ambitious people in Bulgaria, that's why the eighth edition this year will be held in six cities in Bulgaria and we can't wait to see you!

"Professions Day" also enjoys many partners in the business sector, as well as the active support of various non-governmental organizations. One of our main partners is BusinessTest - the first online testing platform in Bulgaria. They also provide the first prize in our "My First Resume" competition - a free career guidance test. Our partners are also NGOs with a similar profile to ours, such as Able Mentor, Career Revolution by Voca Academy and "Development".

The event is ideal for young people looking to improve themselves professionally, as well as for those who are about to start their first job or are struggling to take that next step.
