Konstantin Poudin holds a bachelor's degree in "Economics of Defence and Security" from the UNWE and a master's degree in "National and International Security" from New Bulgarian University. He received his PhD degree in 2009 in the scientific specialty "Economics and Management". Between 2007 and 2015 he held the position of Scientific secretary of the Department of National and Regional Security. Since 2016, he has been Associate Professor at the UNWE.

His research interests are in the field of security and defense management, human resource management in security and defense, security policy, corporate security, nuclear security. Since 2019, he has been part of the teaching staff in the DNRS master's degree in Cybersecurity Management. Konstantin Poudin has also participated in various short-term security related training and courses.

He has participated in 20 research and educational projects. Konstantin Poudin is author/co-author of more than 70 publications. He is fluent in English and Italian, and has a good knowledge of Russian.
