Noncho Dimitrov has been teaching in the Department of National and Regional Security since 2006, where he currently holds the position of Head of the department. He is also the Deputy Dean for Quality and International Cooperation and Chairman of the Quality Assurance and Assessment Commission at Economics of Infrastructure Faculty (UNWE). Noncho Dimitrov further holds outside appointments: he is a member of the Expert Advisory Council to the Minister of Economy (since 2020), member of the Working Group at the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Bulgaria for the development of a program under the "Internal Security fund 2021 - 2027", (since 2020), Deputy Chairman of the Association "Education, Technology and Security" (since 2016), member of the Economic and Social Council (ESC) of the Republic of Bulgaria (since 2023).

He has more than 100 publications. Noncho Dimitrov is author/coauthor of more than 20 monographs and three textbooks. He has participated in more than 50 research and business national and international projects.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Noncho Dimitrov gives lectures and seminars on Anti-crisis management, Crisis communications management, Anti-crisis management in cyber security, Management in energy business.
