Chief Assist. Prof. Dr. Atanas Dimitrov from the DNRS participated in the "Bulgaria, Europe and the world in focus" programme on Radio Focus, where he discussed with the journalist Yolanda Pelova the 2023 annual report of the Bulgarian State Agency for National Security.
According to Atanas Dimitrov, "the document confirms certain risks to Bulgaria's national security, but the threats to the country do not differ from those indicated in the reports of previous years. However, it is worth noting the trend regarding the risks related to irregular migration, the military conflict in Ukraine and the behavior of Russia as well as the conflict in the Gaza Strip. The first two of these have a direct impact on national security in Bulgaria and for this reason they manage to divide the population into two extreme positions – pro-Ukrainian positions, coinciding with the views on the development of the European Union and NATO, and positions that justify the aggressor.
