In the period 5-8 June 2024 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, was held the international exhibition for defense products and services "HEMUS 2024". The Department of National and Regional Security participated for the first time with its own exhibition stand.

UNWE and the DNRS were represented by the Rector of the university Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov, the head of the department Assoc. Prof. Dr. Noncho Dimitrov, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Svetoslav Spasov, Assoc. Dr. Georgi Penchev, Prof. Dr. Tilcho Ivanov, Assoc. Dr. Georgi Pavlov, Ch. Assist. Prof. Dr. Atanas Dimitrov, Dr. Vasil Pavlov, and the PhD students Tsvetomira Penkova, Georgi Stamatov, Hristiyan Gyoshev, Georgi Tasev and Nikola Petrov.

During the exhibition, we happened to meet some of our alumni who have built since their graduation successful careers in the security and defense sector.

The "Hemus" exhibition takes place every two years and gathers leading Bulgarian and foreign defence and security companies. This year's edition was honored by the President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rumen Radev, the Minister of Defence Atanas Zapryanov, the Deputy Minister of Defence Adelina Nikolova and a number of other official guests from Bulgaria and abroad.
