Georgi Penchev has been a full-time lecturer at the Department of National and Regional Security, UNWE, since 2005. He is currently a member of the Faculty Council of Economics of Infrastructure Faculty. Georgi Penchev has more than 30 publications, including one textbook, one monographic study and five co-authored monographic studies.
Georgi Penchev was Head of the project "Development and trends of the European defense market: EU policy and opportunities for Bulgaria", 2009-2012, conducted by the UNWE. He has further participated in more than 20 research projects, of which 10 are international ones.
He has a long-term scientific specialization in BICC, Bonn, Germany and short-term ones in Munich, Brussels and Marrakesh. He conducts lectures and seminars on "Economics of Defense", "Information Systems and Technologies", "Development of Armaments", "Analysis of Public Policies in Defense and Security", etc.
Georgi Penchev is a representative of the UNWE in advisory public councils to the Ministry of Defense. It is also a member of the International Nuclear Security Education Network (INSEN) and Network for Nuclear Security Training and Support Centers (NSSC) of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
