On February 29, 2024, a thematic seminar on Work Package 2.2 was held. "Standards and Innovations" from the National Scientific Program "Security and Defense", financed by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Bulgaria. It discussed the main objectives and progress in the implementation of the program. The event was held in a hybrid format - present at UNWE and online through the Microsoft Teams platform.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Noncho Dimitrov, head of the "National and Regional Security" department, opened the event by emphasizing the importance of the program for the country's scientific capacity in the field of security and defense. The seminar was attended by representatives of
National Security and Defense Research Center - BAS, University of Library Science and Information Technologies, Military Academy "G. S. Rakovski", Defense Institute "Prof. Tsvetan Lazarov", Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Naval Academy "N. J. Vaptsarov", National Military University "Vasil Levski".
The purpose of the workshop meetings is to develop security standards in the field of information security, cyber security and cyber intelligence. National Scientific Program "Security and Defense" envisages the creation of innovative prototypes aimed at improving information protection and cyber security, including through active cooperation with business.
Tasks under RP 2.2. "Standards and Innovations" from the National Science Program "Security and Defense":
Task 2.2.1. Modern techniques for information protection
Task 2.2.2. Prototyping a user authentication system of
secure information systems based on a brain-computer interface
Task 2.2.3. Design and prototyping of an innovative hybrid system for
cyber security and cyber defense with innovative monitoring, prevention and
data flow detection in digital configurations.
Task 2.2.4. Analysis of standards and design of a classification model and
taxonomy of modern cyber attacks and cyber incidents.
Task 2.2.5. Analysis of innovative models and algorithms for the use of large arrays
of data (Big Data) in digital forensics for prevention and
preventing high-tech criminal security breaches
