Chief Assist. Prof. Dr. Atanas Dimitrov is author of the textbook titled "Peace Operations".

The book focuses on key issues related to operations in support of international peace and security - from their planning and deployment to the factors behind a country's decision to participate in them.

Particular attention is given to some contemporary aspects that have an impact on the security and defense sector such as the role of women, the use of force by international contingents in the host country and the use of private security companies and private military companies to achieve the mandated tasks of the given operation.

The textbook is intended for training in the discipline "International Peace Operations", taught to students in the master's degree in "Defence and Security Economics" at the UNWE, but it can also be useful for educational purposes in other disciplines in the field of defense, security and international relations.
